Happy New Year’s Eve

On those New Year's eves gone by, I'd be alone, soaking in the quiet, fireworks dancing with the stars, lost in a conversation with my own mind. Now, it's different, in a room filled with love, a handful of close friends, some random souls, all gathered for the same reason. Hearts might carry pain, but tonight, especially on this new year's shift, we're here to vibe and celebrate. Tonight I’m Twenty-one, surrounded by my people, feeling blessed in this moment.

everything turns black to blue

Reflecting on my heritage, I unravel the threads of my identity—a tapestry woven in hues of being Black. I was born in Ireland, yet my connection feels elusive, a dance between truth and deception. The slangs I've picked up become fragments of belonging, but my existence is still alien to me, leaving me adrift. Maybe, in the cinematic universe, I find a semblance of belonging, a narrative that resonates with me.

Not long ago, my mom's newfound urgency to unveil our Cameroonian roots emerged, just this year. I grapple with a sense of nonexistence, questioning the sincerity of this revelation. It's a paradox—once discarded as inconsequential. I find it hard to establish a genuine connection; it comes off as elusive, lingering beyond the reach of learning.

A friend had a question while I went on this tangent—why not embrace and learn my own culture? Yet, honesty reveals that even in the purest of knowledge, understanding my roots still eludes me. The skipped journey to Cameroon, a start of something denied.

I think what gets me about friendship is the love that develops for someone, I feel no matter how deeply I feel for them, theres a complexity knowing they may not fully grasp the depth of my emotions. Yet theres a shared understanding a silent mutual connection where they might sense and feel what I’m experiencing creating I guess a unique bond

The first log of π’Ÿπ‘œ π“Žπ‘œπ“Š 𝒸𝒢𝓇𝑒, that there’s on ongoing traffic:

In the quiet hours, unexpected connections unfolded between us. Vulnerability, like a delicate thread, wove its way through our conversations at odd times. I didn't anticipate it, but there we were— you, warm yet reserved, and I, nervously navigating a profound shift. That night, in the warmth of each other's arms, everything made sense. Though vulnerability can feel cruel, in that moment, it felt right. Now, in your absence, I miss not just you, but the comfort of our shared presence.
